Is it necessary for our salvation? Not really. Would it help us to salvation? Not really.

This is the lesson taught in Gospel Principles class for investigators and new converts. Yes it is our Priesthood/RS manual for the coming session but it is focused on the Gospel Principles class. Hence the purpose of the lesson is not to delve into deep doctrine that is not essential. We make no excuse for the doctrine of a Heavenly Mother as it is correct doctrine. A doctrine that makes perfect sense and in reality what we are learning here in our probationary state as mortal parents. We do not need to dive into things we know little about or are deemed "too sacred". It does little for us.

Honestly though, if more members focused on Faith, Repentance, Baptism/Sacrament, & the Holy Ghost we would be much further ahead in spirituality as a whole.

Cheers!

PS - I teach the Gospel Principles class in our ward.Ken Reilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14636754256282751791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101420164296212678.post-4448410730853379132010-02-20T05:44:34.813+08:002010-02-20T05:44:34.813+08:00Anonymous:

And savying that seems more offensive than taking Her name in vain. The Ignorant Sagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08954310736346920230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101420164296212678.post-89649793343333865652010-02-14T16:46:30.949+08:002010-02-14T16:46:30.949+08:00I believe the reason we don't know much about ...I believe the reason we don't know much about our Heavenly Mother is so that she isn't talked about in vain or negatively like how so many people throw "Jesus" and "Oh my God" around like common language. It's offensive. I'm sure our Heavenly Father (and prophets/scripture) are protecting her by not talking about her. We all know she exists. I think we have answers to everything but things about her. This is the one thing I am okay not knowing about until we're in her presence to help protect her.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101420164296212678.post-35980093425618168832010-02-06T17:25:09.020+08:002010-02-06T17:25:09.020+08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9101420164296212678.post-21177541895515054052010-02-01T01:30:24.973+08:002010-02-01T01:30:24.973+08:00Nice post and this fill someone in on helped me al...Nice post and this fill someone in on helped me alot in my college assignement. We know a lot compared to people of other faiths, but compared to the knowledge of the whole- we know hardly anything. We still have LOTS to learn! I understand the importance of sticking to the basics, not just for new converts, but even for us "oldtimers". However, I also wish we could learn more now.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04768733213769966037noreply@blogger.com
